Basic Registration
For basic registration, you need to submit an application in Form to the Food and Safety Department. They will accept or reject the application within a week. If your application is rejected, they will provide you with a letter stating the reason for the applicant's rejection of the food business owner. If the authorities accept the application, a registration certificate will be granted, in which a photo of the owner and a registration number will show. The food business must display a registration certificate.
State License
After submitting the documents and verified by the authorities, you have to create a login ID, and a declaration needs to be submitted along with the prescribed form. The declaration contains the applicant's sign along with the prescribed form.
The next step is to file Form B with the required documents. The food business will receive a license within twenty to thirty days (it depends on the location of the food business). In case of rejection of an application, if they find any errors or mistakes in the application, then the applicant has to make corrections and filed again within thirty days from the date of rejection.
Central License
The process is almost similar to the state license; the only difference is the type of activities a food business is involved in.
If the business is involved in import and exporting food products, then the applicant's business will need IEC (Import Export Code) irrespective of its turnover. If the business is involved in the transportation of food items from one state to another state, the applicant will require a central food license.
